Food Drives

Make an Impact!

Community food drives are a great way to make an impact on the Peoples Food Pantry by bolstering our food supply.

What Is Needed?

We love the community spirit behind food drives — they’ve long been a tradition of caring and generosity. Because our storage space is limited, grocery gift cards are an especially helpful alternative to traditional food drives.

Gift cards allow our guests to choose what they need most — especially during holidays, when many want to buy a turkey, ham, or other favorite foods. To keep things fair for everyone, we ask for

  • $10 gift cards from Market Basket or Stop and Shop.

Multiple cards are a wonderful way to extend that kindness to more families.

If you prefer a traditional food drive, a targeted drive ensures that we receive enough of a specific item to distribute the same food to all guests. It is best to choose one or a few items that you are collecting from the list below:

  • Canned tuna or chicken
  • Peanut Butter
  • Canned black beans
  • Shelf stable milk (e.g. Parmalat)
  • Rice (one- or two-pound bags)

How To:

  1. Select the item(s) you wish to collect.
  2. Provide bins and boxes to collect the food.
  3. Except for holidays, gift cards or food will be received by our Pantry Manager on Mondays from 11:00-2:00 PM and Wednesdays from 5:00-6:30 PM. Please park on the Great Pond Rd side of the North Parish and use the back yard door located beyond the gate (see photo on the left).
